GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES

All art forms will be considered, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, music, performance art, dance and media art. There are also opportunities for live performances during the run of the exhibition.

All physical pieces submitted must be for sale. A 30% commission on all exhibition sales will be deducted from the pre-tax sales price.

All submissions will be reviewed, selected and notified by Monday, September 9, 2019.

Accepted artists will be featured (i) on the MW Projects website, including the artist’s project information, biography and link to the artist’s website, (ii) in promotional materials and (iii) in a digital catalogue.

Important Dates:

  • Deadline for submissions: 5pm NYC time, Friday, August 9, 2019

  • Notification of acceptance: Monday, September 9, 2019

  • Installation dates: October 16-18, 2019

  • Exhibition at Gallery RIVAA:

    • Opening reception: October 19, 2019

    • On view: October 19 - November 10, 2019

  • Deinstallation date: Monday, November 11, 2019


GUIDELINES:

  1. Entry is open to all artists. There is a submission fee of $25, payable through the Typeform link. Submission fees are non-refundable. (Please note that the exhibition is organized by volunteers and submission fees go entirely towards space rental, open call advertisement, marketing expenses, reception expenses and printing costs.)

  2. All entries must be original works of art and must be centered on the themes noted above. Artists may submit up to five pieces for consideration.

  3. No works other than those selected by the selection committee will be accepted at the time of installation. The selection committee reserves the right to refuse any piece that differs markedly from the submitted images.

  4. All 2-D work must be suitably framed, wired and ready for hanging. Works on paper must be framed under plexiglass or glass, or as otherwise agreed. All 3-D work must be able to hang securely on the wall or sit on a shelf, pedestal or the floor. Size limit for this exhibition is 40 x 40 inches.

  5. Artists are responsible for transportation of accepted artwork both to and from the gallery.

  6. A 30% commission on all exhibition sales will be deducted from the pre-tax sales price.

  7. Hand-delivered work will be accepted at the galleries ONLY on October 16-17, 2019, 12-6pm. Packaging must be removed from the galleries at the time of delivery. Shipped work must arrive in New York City at the address provided by October 15, 2019, in a reusable container. A computer-generated return label for return of work MUST be enclosed. NO EXCEPTIONS. Pre-paid shipping arrangements must be made through UPS or FedEx websites. NO U.S. POSTAL SERVICE OR COD RETURNS. DO NOT SEND CASH, CHECK, STAMPS OR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION FOR RETURN OF WORK.

  8. Hand-delivered work must be picked up on Monday, November 11, 2019, 10am–5pm. Shipped works will be returned the week of November 11. MW Projects accepts no responsibility for work not retrieved on pick-up date, and after 30 days MW Projects may dispose of the work.

  9. Accepted works will be installed by the artists or their representatives only in the locations designated by the selection committee. Installation will be as passive and non-invasive as practicable. The selection committee reserves the right to request additional or alternative installation methods if deemed necessary.

  10. None of MW Projects LLC, the Consulate General of Estonia in New York or any member of the selection committee will be held responsible for loss or damage to artist’s property. Artists are solely responsible for their property and related liability. Artwork will be handled with all possible care. Entrants are required to hold harmless the MW Projects LLC, the Consulate General of Estonia in New York and members of the selection committee, their agents, representatives or employees for any claim arising from damage to or loss of accepted artworks for any reason whatsoever. We advise you to insure your own artwork.

    Entering this exhibition constitutes understanding of and agreement to the above liability conditions.

ENTRY PROCEDURES:

  1. Only submissions via this Typeform link will be accepted. All submissions must be received by 5pm New York time, Friday, August 9, 2019. Early submission is encouraged.

  2. All entries must be submitted electronically. Judging will be done entirely from JPG images, or video for moving image works. No other formats will be accepted, including PowerPoint Presentations or any other imaging software. JPGs must be 72 dpi, they should be at least 600 pixels but not greater than 1200 pixels in either direction. Maximum file size for any individual image is 2 MB. The size given for works should be the framed size. Height must be given before width regardless of whether the work is a vertical or a horizontal. We will not correct dimension errors. Entry form must be filled out completely. Failure to follow the instructions may result in the nullification of your entry. Your payment will serve as your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

  3. JPG images MUST BE labeled as follows:
    Lastname_Firstname_The number that corresponds with that work's placement on your application (Artwork #1, #2, #3, etc.)

    Files mislabeled or lacking the artist's name will not be viewed by the selection committee.

  4. By submitting this application, you agree that images you have submitted with your application may be used by MW Projects LLC to promote the exhibition.
